TPACK

     After reading this article I believe I still need to improve content knowledge, and pedagogical knowledge. I think my technology knowledge is fairly good but to assure that TPACK is incorporated efficiently I think I should be good at all three. I went through the alternative certification to become a teacher. My degree is in Computer Information Systems so I really never got the opportunity to be a classroom teacher or didn’t get any classroom experience before becoming the technology teacher. I sometimes feel that I am at a disadvantage because I started teaching without that experience. I had to learn about content and pedagogical knowledge as I started teaching. I find that as I learn more about the content it becomes somewhat easier for me to incorporate technology into my lesson. Working with multiple grade levels there is so much content covered that sometimes can be overwhelming for someone that has never had classroom experience. Trying to learn all the content can be time consuming and exhausting.  I know eventually it will become second nature with practice but it seems that there is always new content to learn.  My goal is to feel stronger in the content and pedagogical knowledge to serve my student better.

      Teaching technology has given me the opportunity to work with students from kinder to 6^th grade and to integrate technology when they come to my classroom. Integrating technology in my experience can be tough some teacher believe that sitting. I realized that just because students where on the computer that satisfied technology integration. What I have learned throughout the years of teaching is that technology integration needs to be tied in to what students are learning in their home classroom. Technology serves as a resource that should enhance the learning experience for students and teachers. With that being said this school I am trying to implement more projects with all my students. For example we are using Google earth learn about perimeter and area. I am also using more programs like PowerPoint, word, excel, and comic. I am also going to incorporate more wikis and blogs with my student. I want my student to be familiar with all the tools possible and be prepared for a better future. Many students in my school are not fortunate to have computer access at home and only get to use a computer at school.  Although I only see students for 45mins every other week I want to make sure they have the opportunity to experience technology and all the benefits that come with it.
